I finally got my 22 diamonds back that i lost in my last world. And the beginning of the world finally starts shaping, but then again there is a bitter taste with it. The new update created a new biome that is not available in old worlds, so when next thursday new animals or monsters are introduced i will not be able to see them within my new world, but have to create a new one to see them. But then again i do not really mind since i am only at the beginning and do not have to much time to play anyway since my important exams are soon due and i need a lot of time to study now that i am not as sick anymore.

Also, generating natural lava sources within this biome was a bad idea, jeb.

Illness all the way.

So last week on monday i felt that i was getting sick and it was getting worse day by day. Last wednesday i sounded like i was dying in university and decided to go home right after my lecture. Thursday i did not even go to university and slept long instead. I did not do my homework either, which is okay, because i already have enough points to be over 50% what i need to get my bonus for the exam. Today i was invited for BaCa, my favorite disco, but i won't go because running in the cold in a sweaty t-shirt in the middle of the night is the least good thing to do being sick. Although headache quite stopped and im not coughing every 20 seconds anymore i prefer staying home today, so i can instead go to Düsseldorf Frühlingsfest tomorrow. Meeting some friends, drinking a bit and being home at midnight again, a lot better for my illness than disco.

SOPA Blackout

So tomorrow the internet will shrink a lot with lots of websites closing down for one day to protest against censorship. A great step, i just wish people in germany would act similary against the censorship we have. Tomorrow wikipedia will also close down along with other big names like tumblr, reddit and minecraft.

Wake Up, Punch Trees...

And there i go again, starting a new survival world. Starting in a quite hilly taiga biome with a large coastline, but other than that only packs of wolves may look awesome, but has one big problem. The food supply can be extremely tricky with no apple trees and no animals that drop food, i made a little cave with starting supply, got wood, stone, tools all the stuff needed but soon got to see that my hunger went down, only surviving with zombie flesh for a while and starting a farm under a snow cover and then at one night it happened, my hunger was at 0 and my hearts went down to 1 while fighting a skelleton, at least he dropped a bone for me to get at least one bread. the rest of my hungerbar i had to fill with more zombie flesh and mushroom stew i luckily found in a nearby swamp biome while walking mindlessly through the frosty forest. After my life went better i also got a dog, named 哭哭 (don't ask). Before he even saw my first hideout cave from the inside i already packed my stuff. In a plane biome with lots of sheep i prepared a basement for a new house, put a big chest up and put everything i had inside, so i had enough space to carry everything important i had at my first hideout. Building of the house was rather nervewrecking, because i wanted to built it out of bricks. that cost me a lot of time to search for and a few stacks of coal, but i believe it was worth it. After building the house i could finally get a bigger room for chests so i can sort all of my things and have even space for an enchantment table with bookshelves and a never portal, not to forget a stripmine to finally get more diamonds.

Shiny Shiny

So last sunday we played minecraft and i died with over 20 diamonds, stacks of iron ore and all my tools in a small world. Out of rage i deleted my world afterwards, but said that i will get back to that point next week without getting pushed into lava by a cave spider. So i have one day to build a home, get at least 3 stacks of iron and 20 diamonds. Alone this wouldnt be a problem, but i need Yvonne to be available, before i'm not allowed to start. Of course Yvonne didn't really think about how much time it can takes to get that much stuff done and she planned something else for the day and wants to start tonight. We will see if she will regret the choice, when we are starting to built a house at like 3AM for her and aren't as far as we should be to end our little playthrough of the day.

Having a song stuck in your head

Having a song stuck in your head has only one solution, you have to listen to that song at the same day so it gets out again, but when you have exactly two lines stuck in your head that are only onomapoetic lines like "da-dapdap-da" and "woo-uh" without knowing the name of the song, finding the song can be quite tricky. If you got the song from someone you normally can tell them the line or google a line and they may know what song you talk about, but "da-dapdap-da" is a rather bad description for a song so i had no chance but go through all songs in one folder which consisted of several bands i got from yvonne and went through all the songs. After about 150 to 200 songs i finally found it and listened to it twice so my head stopped thinking about what the name was for a moment and now i'm good haha.

Walking the Penrose Stairs

i feel like i'm walking in a circle, trying to get a half year abroad running im running from professor to professor, but they just send me to other people to seek help from. good information is something else. The things i know now are that i have to contact a person to send me details about a book i buy to study it through before my classes start so i can take advanced classes in summer. Most other things i cannot really do now, what quite sucks. So i just have to walk more in circles to somehow get it all going and working out.

Random College Rant

So i started to study for college again beginning this week which is the last week of the short christmas vacation. I went for 2 days to college to make the homework we got over the vacation with others. First off only half the people who agreed on coming to college didn't show up at all. And then the people who did come over wanted to study instead of making the homework, so i ended up doing the homework alone. Now i have finished nearly 90% of the tasks and the people in college just copy the stuff from me so they have it finished by tomorrow. Best thing is that the only task i did not finish wasn't made by anyone else either. I think I'm studying together with a bunch of lazy asses. But then again it was good to make the homework myself, because i know what i can do and what i have to study more for now.

fleißiger Start ins neue Jahr

Ich habe mir vorgenommen ab dem 2. Januar direkt mit lernen anzufangen und es lief besser als gedacht. LinA habe ich zwar viele Probleme, weil ich mir nicht sicher bin was ich wie lernen kann aber Analysis hat sich richtig gelohnt. Ich habe alleine fast alle Hausaufgaben lösen können, zwar mit Hilfe von Wolfram Alpha und manche Teilaufgaben habe ich online gesucht, aber es ist nicht so als hätte ich viel abgeschrieben. Mittwoch habe ich sogar freiwillig noch bis fast 11 Uhr Hausaufgaben gemacht, weil es mir Spass gemacht hat, man mag es kaum glauben. Die Universität ist stressig, aber es macht immer noch Spass, besonders wenn man Dinge wiederholt hat und es einfach klick macht und man vieles plötzlich versteht, was man vorher nicht verstanden hat.

Flatland and possible height increase

So minecraft added an option for a flat world. It is all grass and the starting level is level 4. The world loads super fast and is amazing for building structures in creative and it's about to get better. On a question on his twitter about a possible world height increase jeb replied with "yes, i've been working on something, but i want to analyse performance" which is the greatest news in a while. Together with the flatland option i finally may be able to build skyscrapers to scale in huge projects on my next vacation. Let's just hope for the best that the height will be increased by far or that cubic chunks will finally get a go.
